HASABIRA, a writer cherished by everyone, resides in the city. The latest novel HASABIRA has written, JHYALINCHA (Dragonfly), has recently hit the market; and the play starts with an ongoing interaction program about the novel.

Although HASABIRA has set the novel touching upon the subject of the armed conflict, he does not completely understand/know the lead female character. He is enchanted by a purple dragonfly that comes into his garden and in immersed into a fantasy world around which he frames his novel JHYALINCHA (Dragonfly). While writing the novel HASABIRA becomes paranoid and feels that the character is following him. Although pleased he seems somewhat troubled and confused by it. Upon almost completing the novel, his pet gecko that resides in the garden swallows the purple dragonfly. HASABIRA feels relief.

And then only, the real story of the dragonfly starts. The soul of a young girl from a remote village transforming into a dragonfly and starts fly around. During the armed conflict she was abducted by the security forces for having provided food to the rebels. She was then raped and buried alive behind a berry bush in the jungle without the knowledge of her family. Her name is not there in the National List of the Missing Persons.

The young girl's mother believes that her daughter was transformed into a dragonfly and is flying around but would one day return home. As the young girl is trying to explain this, HASABIRA's pet lizard swallows her. The young girl's soul departs.

And, the play ends.
